This policy explains how the Arkanews game handles your data. It applies both to the web version published at news-videogames.com and to the Arkanews app for Android (package com.arkanews.game), distributed through Google Play.
The owner and data controller is identified in the legal notice, which also lists the contact details for any request related to this policy.
Arkanews has no accounts, no sign-up and no login. It never asks you for your name, e-mail address, phone number or any other personal identifier, and it does not access your contacts, files, camera, microphone or precise location. The only permission the Android app requests is internet access, which it needs to download news headlines.
Arkanews uses Google Analytics 4 (property G-50GK0NNRL3) to measure how the game is used. Analytics is disabled by default: the first time you open the game a banner asks for your consent, and nothing is sent to Google unless you press "Accept". If you decline, no analytics script is loaded at all.
If you accept, Google Analytics processes: usage events inside the game, an approximate location derived from your IP address (country and city level, never a precise location), device and operating system information, screen size, language, and a randomly generated identifier that is not linked to your identity. Google acts as a data processor on our behalf and may transfer this data outside the European Economic Area under its standard contractual clauses. Google's own practices are described in its privacy policy.
You can withdraw your consent at any time. On Android: Settings → Apps → Arkanews → Storage → Clear data. On the web: clear the site data in your browser. The consent banner will be shown again the next time you open the game.
The game saves a few preferences in the local storage of your device. This information stays on your device, is never transmitted to us, and disappears when you uninstall the app or clear its data:
arkanews-lang — the interface language you selected.arkanews_sites — your custom list of news sources, if you edited it.arkanews_ga_consent — whether you accepted or rejected analytics. The game does not save your scores on any server; scores exist only while you play.
api.rss2json.com, sending it the address of the RSS feed you chose; as with any internet request, that service then receives your IP address and standard technical data.Arkanews carries no advertising SDK and shows no personalised advertising, neither in the Android app nor on the website. The affiliate banners described above are the only commercial content, and they are the same for everyone: nothing is selected on the basis of who you are or what you have browsed.
Arkanews is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect any data from them. The game shows real news headlines from third-party outlets, whose subject matter we do not control and which may not be suitable for children.
Analytics data is processed on the basis of your consent (Article 6.1.a GDPR) and is retained by Google for a maximum of 14 months. The preferences stored on your device remain there until you delete them.
You have the right to access, rectify and erase your data, as well as to restrict or object to its processing and to data portability. Because Arkanews collects no identifiers that allow us to link data to a specific person, we may be unable to identify you; in that case, the fastest way to exercise your rights is to withdraw consent and clear the app data as described above. To make a request, use the contact details in the legal notice.
If you are in Spain and consider that your rights have not been respected, you may file a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (www.aepd.es).
All communication between the game and the services described here travels over encrypted HTTPS connections.
This policy may be updated to reflect changes in the game or in the applicable law. The date at the top always indicates the current version.
